Continuation..

My 1st grandson was born 6 months ago, but my DIL won’t let me meet him. She says, “I’m still not ready for visitors!”
Yet her own mother moved in to help.

Last night, I’d had enough and went to my son’s house unannounced.
They both turned pale. I froze when I saw that my grandson…

…was in the arms of a nanny I’d never met.

Not her mother. Not a family member. A complete stranger.
I asked, “Who is this?”
My daughter-in-law stammered, “She’s just here part-time. We didn’t want to overwhelm you…”

But I saw the truth in my son’s eyes.
There was more they weren’t saying.
Later, he called me alone and said, “Mom… she’s been struggling mentally. She’s afraid, not of you—but of losing control. The nanny is a compromise we made to keep peace.”

Suddenly, the anger in my heart melted into concern.
I didn’t get to hold my grandson that night.
But I got to hold my son’s hand as he shared the truth.
And that was the first step back toward trust.
