“NO, STOP! I\u2019ll explain everything! In fact\u2026 I have<\/em> to. I can’t keep this a secret anymore.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FATHER:<\/strong>
“What are you talking about?! Where is my real son?!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NURSE:<\/strong> (voice trembling)<\/em>
“There\u2026 there was a power outage in the maternity ward right after delivery. For a few minutes, the systems went down\u2026 no monitors, no security tags. I was trying to help with multiple deliveries at once\u2026 and somehow\u2026 I\u2014I must have switched the babies’ cribs by accident.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOTHER:<\/strong>
“You what?!<\/em> Do you understand what you\u2019ve done?! That\u2019s our child!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OBSTETRICIAN:<\/strong>
“This is serious. Are you saying these aren\u2019t their biological babies?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NURSE:<\/strong> (nodding, crying)<\/em>
“We just didn\u2019t know for sure until now. But I noticed this morning that the ID bracelets didn\u2019t match the records. I was trying to fix it before anyone found out\u2026 I\u2019m so sorry. I never meant for this to happen.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FATHER:<\/strong>
“Where\u2019s our actual child then? Where\u2019s my<\/em> son?!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NURSE:<\/strong>
“He\u2019s safe. He\u2019s just in the next nursery room. The other family is still here. They haven\u2019t been told yet.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOTHER:<\/strong> (furious)<\/em>
“You BETTER bring him to me right now. And this hospital will be hearing from our lawyer!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OBSTETRICIAN:<\/strong>
“We\u2019ll launch a full investigation. This is unacceptable, and I promise we\u2019ll make this right.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Moments later, another nurse gently brings in a baby boy. The mother\u2019s eyes fill with tears as she instinctively reaches out.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOTHER:<\/strong>
“This\u2026 this is my son. I knew it. I felt it the second I saw him.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FATHER:<\/strong> (softly)<\/em>
“I\u2019m so sorry, little guy. We\u2019re here now. We won\u2019t let anything happen to you again.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OBSTETRICIAN:<\/strong>
“We\u2019ll arrange DNA testing immediately and provide full documentation for both families. This situation will be handled with absolute care from now on.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NURSE:<\/strong> (whispers)<\/em>
“I understand if I lose my job\u2026 but I\u2019ll never forgive myself for this.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOTHER:<\/strong> (coldly)<\/em>
